Maria Minerva Salinas “Minnie”, age 71, passed away September 16, 2022 in Alice, Texas. She was born May 27, 1951 in Freer, Texas to Antonio Vasquez Martinez and Nicolasa “Nancy” Martinez. Minnie previously worked as a dietician for P&S Hospital for 20 years and later began working for Christus Spohn Alice for 10 years. She enjoyed western movies and was an avid Elvis fan. Minnie will forever be remembered for directive orders and her joking sense of humor. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Nicolasa “Nancy” Martinez; son-in-law, James Ross, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Abel and Fidela P. Salinas; brother-in-law, Graciano Salinas “Chano” (Gloria) and Abel Salinas (Janie); and her fur baby, Chocolate.

Minnie is survived by her spouse of 52 years, Ismael “Smiley” P. Salinas of Alice; two children, Andrew “Andy” Salinas of Alice and Nancy Salinas Ross of Pernitas Point; sister, Ana Rodriguez (Robert) of Seabrook; stepmother, Juana Martinez of San Benito; brothers-in-law, Fidel Salinas of Alice and Rene Salinas (Lilly) of San Diego; sister-in-law, Aurora Menchaca of San Antonio; grandchildren, Tony Ramirez (Candice), Jonathan Reeves, Lyssa Reeves, and Jamie Ross; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 6:30 pm at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel
