Jose E. “Joe” Salinas

Jose E. “Joe” Salinas, 75 years of age, passed away on September 16, 2022, in a Corpus Christi hospital.

Joe was a native of Benavides, Texas living in Alice for many years and was an avid Dallas Cowboy Fan. He was born on August 4, 1947, in Benavides Texas to Ubence Sr. and Marcelina Elizondo Salinas.

Joe worked at the Edward’s Furniture Store of Alice, Texas and then worked for Hammock Distributors up until his retirement. He enjoyed watching western movies and football games on TV. Occasionally you would find him tuned in to the Sci-Fi and CNN Channels. His passion was spending time with his family while enjoying some barbeque. He was preceded in death by his parents Ubence Sr. and Marcelina E. Salinas; his first wife Irma L. Salinas; brother Ubence Salinas Jr. and his parents in law Reyes B. and Anita B. Villanueva. Survivors include his wife of 34 years of marriage, Anita V. Salinas of Alice, Texas; two sons Omar (Judy) Salinas of Bentonville, Texas, and Adan V. (Debbie) Gonzales of San Antonio, Texas. Other survivors include his two brothers Arturo (Maria De Jesus) Salinas of Bryan, Texas and Reymundo (Sylvia Gonzalez) Salinas of Alice, Texas and three sisters Maria Elena (Daniel) Montalvo of Alice, Texas, Rosa (Raul) Vela and Anna Salinas Ramirez both of Kingsville, Texas; numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday Sept 22, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Rosas Funeral Home. A Holy rosary will be recited at 1:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the New Collins Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Salazar, Andrew Garcia, Arturo Salinas, Rey Salinas, Bryan Montalvo, and Armando Lopez. Rosas Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
