Austin – Senator Paul Bettencourt (R-Houston) comments that while the current National inflation rate is 8.6%, millions of under-65 Texas Homesteads should see their Independent School District (ISD) tax bills cut this Fall. In May of this year, Texas’ Voters overwhelmingly approved Propositions 1 and 2, which provided direct tax cuts to homeowners with homestead tax bills in 2022 and 2023. 2.1 Million over-65 or disabled homeowners will receive the benefits of the state’s compressed property tax rate for school maintenance
Over-the-counter hearing aids expected this fall in US
WASHINGTON (AP) — Millions of Americans will be able to buy hearing aids without a prescription later this fall, under a long-awaited rule finalized Tuesday. The regulation creates a new class of hearing aids that don’t require a medical exam, a prescription and other specialty evaluations, the Food and Drug Administration said.

Another amazing performance by the Alice High School cross country program. Running on the same course the team will see in the district meet at the Tuloso-Midway Invitational Saturday, the Alice girls and boys were second in their divisions. The Alice JV boys also won their division.
