Edna Lozano

Edna Lozano, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away on July 27, 2022, at 10:27 PM, at St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, from complications of pneumonia.  Edna was born on September 2, 1935, in Concepción, Texas, the eldest child to father, Isidro Mendez(†) and mother, Zulema Palacios(†).

Edna was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Adan Lozano, Sr.(†), USMC Ret., of Alice, TX.  They were joined in Holy Matrimony in Corpus Christi, TX, on October 4, 1957.  She is survived by her sister, Graciela (Roel) Naranjo; brother, Isidro Mendez (Theresa).  Edna and Adan had four children, two daughters: Cecilia DeLeon (Anthony) and Carmen Lozano; sons: Adan Lozano, Jr., and Frank Lozano(†); and grandchildren, Sarah, MaryBeth, Matthew, and Rita Svihla (Ryan); and great-grandchild, James.

Edna was our family’s bright, shining star that led us down God’s path.  The Lord gave her 86 wonderful years – she was truly an angel, like her mother.  She was kind-hearted and a caring, loving person who always gave to others in need.  The family would like to thank those who loved and supported her in her life and the brilliant medical staff who cared for Edna in her final weeks.  She was always there for us and will be greatly missed.  An extended thank you to Herminia Vigil & Evelina Beltran for being there in her last days.
