Forty-year-old Gabriel Villa-Guzman of Mexico was recently apprehended by Harris County Authorities for outstanding active warrants out of Duval County. He had been wanted by the Duval County Sheriff’s Office for about two years.
Everyday things have been impacted by COVID-19 for the last two years and nothing is any different for the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). According to Marty Sepulveda, Scout Executive/CEO for the BSA South Texas Council, the BSA especially in Jim Wells County was greatly affected so much that there are no cub scouts in the county.
The 229th Judicial District Court sentenced a Benavides woman to 10 years of probation for stealing $136,604.17 from the Agua Poquita Soil and Water Conservation District. According to the 229th Judicial Assistant District Attorney Rumaldo Solis, 53-yearold Juanita Amanda Walters was convicted of theft of property, a second-degree felony, after she was accused of stealing money from the governmental entity in March of 2013.

William Adams Middle School Summer ACE students recently learned about fishing. Students went to Lake Corpus Christi where they met with a Park Ranger who educated them on fishing and water safety.
Alice High School Summer ACE students recently visited Texas A&M University - Kingsville and Del Mar College in Corpus Christi. The trip end the summer ACE program.
