Teodora Perez Rivera, 87 years of age, affectionately known to her family as “Chita”, peacefully passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022, at Retama Manor Nursing Home, Alice, Texas, where she had been a long-time resident.

Chita was born on August 19, 1934, and was a native-born resident of Ben Bolt, Texas, where she spent most of her life. She was preceded in death by her spouse Cosme Rivera, her parents Andres Perez and Teodora (Escobar) Perez, two sisters, Albilda (Perez) Barrera, Effa (Perez) Flores, and three brothers, Andres Perez Jr, Lauro Perez, and Edelmiro Perez.

Chita never had a family of her own, but she is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Services were held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Ben Bolt, Texas, on Saturday, May 28, 2022, with a Holy Rosary being recited at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. till 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church in Ben Bolt, Texas.

Pallbearers were Samuel Perez, Pedro Jimenez Jr, Orlando Cadena, Benjamin Barrera, Nicolas Gonzalez, and Gabe Escobar.
