Maria Belen Salinas

Maria Belen Salinas, age 85, passed into eternal rest Sunday, June 5, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by her family after a long illness. She was born on June 8, 1936, in Rios, Texas to her parents Damas and Maria Rodriguez. Belen resided in Alice, Texas most of her life, and lived in Laredo a short time later in life. A true hard worker, she was a retired Deputy Clerk with Jim Wells County. Belen was the best cook, and she knew it, she loved throwing a good BBQ for family and friends. She gave the best advice and at times demanded you follow it, but it came from years of knowledge and love. She lived her life to the fullest and is dancing in the sky reunited with the love of her life.

Belen is survived by her daughters, Gloria Leal, Sylvia Salinas-Ruiz, and Diana (Tony) Salinas Garcia; her grandchildren, John David (Rachel) Salinas, Marc Leo Salinas, Ashley Nicole Salinas, Stephanie (William) Mireles, Luz Abel (Erica) Leal, Jr., Liana (Efrain) Lopez and Antonio “Tres” A. Garcia III.; great-grandchildren, Lindsey Caitlyn Salinas, Maegan Leah Salinas, Elizabeth Autumn Salinas, Jacob Daniel Salinas, Zethe David Almanza, Gabriella Faith Leal, Luz Abel Leal, III, and Brooke Addison Lopez. She is also survived by her sisters, Tiva Jasso, Gila (Ernesto) Deleon, and sister-in-law Regina Rodriguez.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, David Salinas. Her parents, Maria Manuela Vera-Rodriguez, and Damas Rodriguez Sr; three brothers, Francisco Rogelio, Gustavo, Damas Rodriguez Jr.; one sister, Graciela Rodríguez-Perry. Son in law, Luz Abel Leal, Sr., two brothers-in-law, Mark Perry, and Reynaldo Jasso, and one sister-in-law, Maria Cecilia Rodriguez. Pallbearers will be Daniel Deleon, Eddie Rodriguez,

Viewing will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2022, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home, in Alice, TX. Funeral Service at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2022, also at Rosas Funeral Home with burial to follow at Alice Fraternal Cemetery-Alice.
