Six Lady Coyotes recently received All South Texas Honors from the Corpus Christi Caller-Times. Sweet, refreshing and unique lemonade was sold by Jim Wells County children on Saturday, June 25 as part of the Alice HUB City Chamber of Commerce Lemonade Day. Ten teams of children set up their stands with lemonade, food, sweets and smiles as they learned the value of a dollar.
Friday, June 24 was a historical moment for one of Alice’s oldest resident. Eddie Alvarado Phenix turned 100, and was showered with love at a small gathering with family, friends, and city and county officials.
Alice High School freshmen, Liana Garcia was recently named into the 2022 All South Texas Track and Field Team in the Mid-Distance category. District Champion, Area Champion and finished 10th overall in Region IV-4A.
AUSTIN— As we enter the summer months, Texans are heading to Texas State Parks to enjoy time outdoors. Last year, 43 state parks reported 102 heat-related illnesses in humans and pets. Since January 1, 54 heat-related incidents have already been reported, compared to 34 reported by this time last year.
