Election poles in Duval County were open for voters to decided on three races as part of the Run-Off Elections for the county. On Tuesday, May 24, the Elections Administration office released the unofficial results.

Students who attend Alice, Ben Bolt - Palito Blanco and San Diego High Schools recently held their Senior Walks. Seniors were dressed in their gowns adjourned with their collars, cords and metals. The walk’s purpose is to motivate the younger students at the elementary schools.
FREER - On June 12, nine Freer children will take the pageant stage at the Freer High School auditorium. Contestants will showcase their formal wear and talents as they compete for a spot in the Freer Rattlesnake Roundup Royalty. The pageant is 2 p.m. Tickets are available through the Freer Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
“Every day the men and women of the Alice Police Department put on their badge and their duty gear and serve our city. Without these officers we would not be protected. Let’s remember our law enforcement officers put themselves at risk for the betterment of our community,” said Alice City Manager Michael Esparza at the Alice PD’s annual Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony.
Mr. Calvin Franklin “Buddy” Simonton, 77, of Rockdale, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at his residence. A memorial service for Mr. Simonton will be held at a later date. Cremation will be followed by a burial in Alice, TX, next to his son, Larry Wayne Simonton.
