2022 JWC Junior Citizen of the Year Scholarship available
The Alice Hub City Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce they are now accepting applications for the 2022 Jim Wells County Junior Citizen of the Year Scholarship. Under the program, one female senior and one male senior who attend school within the county will be awarded a $500 scholarship on July 1.
Jeremiah Luna graduates from CSC with bachelor’s degree
Jeremiah Luna of San Diego graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science from Chadron State College May 7. The college hosted a combined ceremony to honor students earning bachelor’s degrees.

DPS seize nearly $500K during semi’s safety inspection
Department of Public Safety troopers recently seized close to half a million dollars from an 18-wheeler during a commercial vehicle safety inspection, according to the DPS Facebook page. The grand jury for the 79th District Court recently indicted Miguel Casarez for indecency with a child - sexual contact. Casarez, 50, was indicted on April 21 for the second degree felony.

If Roe is overturned, abortion would be outlawed in Texas, with exceptions
