Deebo Samuel was every bit an All-Pro in 2021 – that’s why he got my vote (along with Cooper Kupp and Davante Adams) over other deserving players like Justin Jefferson and Tyreek Hill. I thought Samuel was transcendent and unselfish last season – not to mention highly, highly productive for a San Francisco 49ers offense that attempted the fourth-fewest passes in the NFL.

ALICE - Lydia L. Martinez – 64 years of age passed away on March 28, 2022, with her family gathered at her bedside after a long courageous battle to brain cancer. She was born on December 31, 1957, in Alice, Texas to Leonides C. Lopez Jr. and Petra “Patsy” Ramirez Lopez. She worked for the Alice ISD food service department for many years. She will always be remembered as a humble and loving person. She will be missed by her family dearly.

With humanity on the brink, should we trust deterrence theory, or disarmament?

On Monday, the Pentagon announced the US will soon begin training the Ukrainian military in using howitzer artillery in an unnamed country. Presumably this will be in a NATO member state. If Russian intelligence found out where, might it attack to stop the howitzers from being deployed against Russian forces in Ukraine? Almost assuredly not, as that would trigger a wider war, invoking NATO’s self-defense provision, which would be catastrophic for Russia.
