Lake Corpus Christi State Park will hold its annual fishing clinic for children ages five to twelve on Saturday February 2.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will supply rainbow trout for the event and area donors provide the children with a fishing rod and reel, bait, and tackle. The Park waives the entrance fees for all who participate in the event.

Everything needed for the event is provided and the children will leave the event with a new rod and reel, their catch, and a certificate of participation. Employees and volunteers provide instructions and hands-on help to aid these youngsters while they are fishing, as well as clean and bag their catch.

Contact Lake Corpus Christi State Park to register for the event at (361) 547-2635. Six hourly sessions start at 9 a.m.

After the event, fishing will be open to the public. No fishing License or trout stamp is required to fish inside State Parks. Park entry fees will apply.
