Vaqueros win 21st game of the season by beating Hebbronville

Playing in a Saturday afternoon game against the Hebbronville Longhorns, the San Diego Vaqueros displayed the overall kind of performance which has the team state-ranked and with a 21-1 record.

The Vaqueros handled the Longhorns with ease and did it behind 19 points from Joseph Martinez and 12 from Clemente Espinoza. The two San Diego standouts lead off this week's Alice Echo-News Journal Prep Honor Roll.

The Orange Grove Bulldogs benefitted from a trio of players scoring in double-figures Saturday in a 51-41 victory over Port Aransas. Josh Prado led the Bulldogs with a 16-point effort. Others scoring in double-figures were Colin DeLaune with 14 and Cody Winstead with 11. Olivia Salas led the Alice Lady Coyotes to an impressive 46-42 win over Calallen Friday night with 13 points. Kim Rea followed with 11 points.
