American League minor teams sweepNational Thursday

In Little League baseball, sometimes it's the team with the last at-bat who has the upper hand. That was the case in the Alice Little League's Minor League City Championships Thursday night.
Fortunately for the American League, their teams were the home teams at Optimist Park, and twice they used their last at-bat to pull off thrilling come-from-behind victories.
In a game which finished just before midnight, the American League's White Soxs won the city's Minor League championship over the National League's Hooks when with two outs and facing a full-count, Brandon Adams hit an RBI double which scored Adrian Villarreal. The White Soxs were behind by as much as five runs in the late innings of the ball game, but won the game, 12-11.
Joshua Adams was the White Soxs winning pitcher. Zach Blanco was on the mound for the Hooks when the game ended.
The outcome was not unlike that of the third-place game earlier in the evening. In that game, the AL's Devil Rays scored eight runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to beat the NL's Knights, 13-12.
The Devil Rays entered the bottom half of the final inning trailing, 12-5. Slowly, they chipped away until Christian Trejo hit a three-run inside-the-park home run to win the game. Trejo's game-winner came with two outs.
Roco Juarez was the game's winning pitcher.
