The Calallen Lady Wildcats swept the Mission Lady Eagles 25-12, 25-9, 25-17 at Kingsville High School on Saturday. The Wildcats showed why they are the No. 8 team in the state after easing through the Regional Quarterfinal round.

In the first set, The Wildcats jumedp ahead of the Eagles 12-5 on the fine performances of Kelsey Schwirtlich, Angela Hook, Courtney Oertili and Amanda Haven. Calallen was too strong for the Lady Eagles as they won their first set, 25-12.

The second set, the Eagles were overwhelmed by the digs, set-ups and spikes by the Lady Cats. Calallen's offense took over the game by a 16 point lead and coasted to a 25-9 score.

In the third set, Calallen Coach Lupe Cardona let the reserves play and the outcome was the same as the Lady Cats completed the sweep to beat Mission in three sets.
