Local fast-pitch softball team, the South Texas HotStuff, took first place out of 20 teams in the 18-and-under division at the San Marcos Texas Championship tournament held Saturday and Sunday.

Down 6-2 in the bottom of the last inning in the championship game, the HotStuff scored five runs in a rally started with a two-base bunt by Heather Harrill. Eventual tournament MVP Danielle Riley sealed the championship with a walk-off single to win 7-6.
