Will next face S.D. Vaqueros

The Freer Buckaroos may have amassed more rushing yards that the George West Longhorns Friday night, but it wasn't enough to pull out a victory.

The Buckaroos fell to the Longhorns 27-12.

George West found the end zone early in the first quarter while the Buckaroos went scoreless.

Freer scored early in the second on a 9-yard pass from Matthew Perez to Wesley Lunda to bring the score to 7-6 in favor of the Longhorns.

Perez went four-for-eight on the night with 44 yards and one interception.

George West score first in the second half to bring the score to 14-6. Freer answered right back with an 11-yard TD run by Mikey Carrillo, who had the most rushing yards for the night for the Buckaroos with 72 yards.

Carrillo's score brought the Buckaroos to with two points, but George West scored twice in the final two minutes of the third quater to bring the final score to 27-12.

Neither team hit the end zone in the fourth quarter.

Other top rushers for the Buckaroos were Josh Lopez with 65 and Tyler Stewart with 43.

Turnovers and penalties hurt the Buckaroos. The Bucks had three fumbles and recovered only one and were charged with eight penalties for 59 yards.

The Buckaroos travel to San Diego Friday to face the Vaqueros.
