The Tuloso-Midway Warriors continue struggling to get their first win after losing 28-3 Friday night to the Alice Coyotes.

Despite having more offensive yards than Alice, 217 to 214, and more first downs, the Warriors could not produce any points in the end zone.

Alice took an early 8-0 lead in the first quarter after running back Mateo Gonzalez scored a 6-yard touchdown run and Josh Cavazos scored the two-point conversion.

Gonzalez finished the night with 43 yards rushing and three touchdowns.

Tuloso-Midway kicker Ryan Reeder was able to put the Warriors on the board when he booted a 35-yard field goal, making it 8-3 in favor of the Coyotes.

It was all Alice the rest of the game.

Gonzalez scored his second touchdown from 28 yards away as the Coyotes took a 14-3 lead heading into halftime.

Defense played a key role for both teams in the third quarter as Tuloso-Midway and Alice were both held scoreless. But the Coyotes were able to score two more rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter to put the game away.

The Warriors fell to 0-7 after the loss as they prepare to face the Kingsville Brahmas Friday night at 7:30 at Tuloso-Midway.

It will be the Warriors' second home game this season.
