Team healthy

The Lady Bucks are 3-0 in district season. This is a place where we want to be-on top of the pack. We have to take care of three more teams in the first half to achieve our season goal as 6-0 for the first half.

Other strong teams at the top are Riviera and Bishop. We have beaten Riviera, Premont and Banquete and will meet up with Bishop this coming Saturday at home with first matches starting at 11 a.m. (freshman), then JV, and Varsity around 1 p.m.

It will be a challenge traveling almost four hours this Tuesday to play against Santa Rosa for a District match. We have to make sure we get the job done when we travel that far. The girls are playing together as a team and have come a long way since day one.

We have thus far stayed away from team injuries, but this last match against Banquete our girls were ill with congestion and other cold symptoms. It affected their breathing and endurance on the court. But, I was proud of them for hanging in there and coming home with a win.

Varsity won with scores of 25-12, 25-14, 23-25, 25-22. Our freshman (2-0) team also won and our JV came short of a win 2 to 1.
