For the first inning Friday evening, it appeared the Alice Boys and Girls Club's Little League Junior Division all-stars were going to have a tough time with East Brownsville - the same East Brownsville team Alice beat 10-0 just days before.

Alice will play in the first round of the state Junior Division tournament at 9 a.m. Sunday on Reicher Field off in Waco. Alice's first opponent will be an all-star team from the Waco-Midway and Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Part of the Alice all-star team played in the state tournament last season on the 11- and 12-year-old all-star team.

Against East Brownsville, Alice was dominating - after the first inning.

In that lead-off inning, East Brownsville took advantage of a lead-off walk and a few hits to score two runs off starter Selina Moreida. Alice trailed 2-1 after that inning.

After that inning though, it was all Alice. East Brownsville didn't score another run while Alice went on the light up their side of the scoreboard.

Leading Alice at the plate was Ashley Ramirez who had three hits. Leila Salazar had three hits. Morieda, Zalysa Perez and Rebecca Wymore each had two
