SAN?DIEGO — The San Diego Lady Vaqueros improved their District 31-2A record to 4-1 with an impressive 43-14 victory at home against the Donna IDEA Academy Lady?Titans on Tuesday night.

The Lady Vaqueros raced out to a 13-0 first quarter lead and never looked back in cruising to the win.

San Diego led 27-8 at halftime.

“We pulled off the pressure late in the second half and tried to work on things,” San Diego assistant coach Rupert Canales Jr. said. “We’ve been on the opposite end of games like this and have had the score run up on us, so we took the pressure off.”

The Lady Vaqueros emptied the bench early in the first half, but still had two players score in double-figures.

Marcy Arredondo led San Diego with 11 points and Danielle Perez chipped in with 10 points.

The Lady Vaqueros next play at Riveria on Friday at 5 p.m. and the boys host Riviera, also at 5 p.m.
