The Alice Little League Softball Minor League all-stars were in a tough spot going into the championships of their sectionals tournament.

Only the Alice and Brownsville all-stars remained, but since Brownsville had beaten Alice, 15-5, in their first meeting, the girls from Alice needed to wins to advance.

Alice beat Brownsville, 9-8, by scoring two runs in their last at-bat. They then won the sectionals championship by beating Brownsville again, 8-7, Saturday night. Alice trailed, 7-0, in the third inning, but came back. Alice tired the game, 7-7, to force extra innings, and they won the game with an RBI by Hazelray Canales.
