Alice Little League Softball’s oldest all-stars are headed to the state tournament.

The team advanced to the Texas West state tournament by winning the sectionals tournament here at the Alice Softball Field Tuesday night. Only Alice and Corpus Christi National were in the sectionals tournament. Alice won both games by a combined score of 30-0.

The Alice girls closed to the tournament Tuesday night with a 17-0 victory in five innings.

Alice will play in the first round of the Texas West tournament Thursday evening in Abilene. Alice’s first-round opponent is Waco.

Raleigh Perez was the winning pitcher Tuesday night. She held Corpus Christi scoreless through five innings.

Leading Alice at the plate was Kayla Escobar who went 3-for-3. Sarina Cantu was 2-for-3 with a stand-up triple and double. Hannah Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with two doubles and Meghan Molina had a pair of doubles.

The team includes Sam Hinojosa, Zaliegh Perez, Sarina Cantu, Kayla Escobar, Meghan Molina, Maylynn Saenz, Hannah Rodriguez, Grace Cantu, Adely Pando, Kelly Alvarado and Cassidy Joslin.
