The Alice football program won’t know how it’s district will shape-up until the UIL releases its biannual realignment and reclassification at 9 a.m. Thursday morning.

However, Alice does have its non-district schedule already figured out.

Alice head coach Kyle Atwood said the program has four games set for the preseason.

The Coyotes will begin the season with a game against Laredo Alexander, which Alice has opened with for the last couple of seasons. Alice then has non-district games against Kingsville, Corpus Christi Ray and Corpus Christi Miller.

Alice played those four teams in 2017 and was 4-0.

The four games leave six openings on the schedule for district games. Atwood said he believes Alice will end up in a seven-team district, which means four non-district games and six district games. He said in the event that the district has more or less teams, the schedule will be adjusted accordingly.

Coaches traditionally complete their entire football schedules on the day that the UIL releases its realignment and reclassification.
