The San Diego Lady Vaqueros made it to Dilley and back Monday night ahead of the potentially-dangerous arctic blast headed this way. Along the way, the girls picked up another 30-3A victory, extending their district record to 2-0.

The Lady Vaqueros were dominating from the start Monday night, jumping out to a 16-5 lead in the first period. They extended their lead to 40-22 by halftime.

Dilley put itself in a deeper hole by scoring only three points in the entire second half. Dilley was scoreless in the fourth period.

Senior Marley Martinez led all scorers with 20 points, including 14 in the first half. Lianna Vela scored 19. Her two three-pointers where San Diego's only long-range baskets in the game. Kriselda Vela scored nine.

The San Diego girls were supposed to travel to Dilley Tuesday night, but the game was moved up a day because of the forecast of dangerous weather conditions. The San Diego boys had their game against Dilley postponed until a later date.
