Mother nature is forcing some changes to this week’s high school basketball schedule.

A strong arctic blast is expected to move into South Texas Tuesday. Meteorologists are calling for freezing day-time temperatures and possible freezing rain and sleet Tuesday and Wednesday. That forecast has prompted some schools to move or postponed their games which were scheduled for Tuesday night.

At San Diego High School, the Lady Vaqueros District 31-3A road game against Dilley was moved up to today. The junior varsity teams will play at 5 p.m., while the varsity is expected to play at 6:30 p.m.

The San Diego boys’ game at Dilley is being postponed. It’s expected to be made-up later this season.

The Alice girls and boys had 30-5A North Zone games against Calallen set for 6:15 and 8 p.m. Tuesday. Alice athletic director Kyle Atwood said the game will likely be moved because of the potential for dangerous traveling conditions. Currently, there aren’t make-up dates for either game.
