The Alice Coyotes baseball program is hoping to raise some money for itself through golf.

Parents have organized the first Alice Baseball Golf Tournament. The tournament is November 18 at the Alice Municipal Golf Course.

All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the baseball program.

Alice head coach Rene Chavez the money will be used to upgrade Alice’s equipment and help with travel and meals this coming season. The program is of course funded by the school, but money made through the tournament will supplement the program.

“Bats, top of the line uniforms and caps, travel and meals, any money we raise will go to that,” Chavez said. “Baseball is an expensive sport nowadays. Bats cost $500 and more. We want to be able to equip our program and our kids with everything they need.”

The entry fee for the tournament is $70 per player or $280 a team. The fee includes golf cart fees and a meal after the tournament.

Hole sponsorships are available for $100. Alice players are selling the sponsorships.
