CALALLEN — It’s going down to one game on Saturday to decide whether Robstown or Sinton is headed to the Class 4A state baseball tournament.

The Sinton Pirates evened the best-of-three game series by winning Game 2 Friday night, 8-2, at Steve Chapman Field in Calallen.

Game 3 of the Region IV-4A final is at 4 p.m. Saturday back in Calallen.

Robstown took a one-game series lead by winning Game 1 of the series, 5-0, Thursday night in Jourdanton.

The entire series was originally set to be played at Cabaniss Field in Corpus Christi, but the series was moved because of heavy rain. Game 1 was played in Jourdanton.

The Cotton Pickers dominated Game 1 behind the pitching of Jacob Garcia, who held Sinton hitless through six innings.

MOODY GOING TO STATE: The Corpus Christi Moody Trojans are going back to the state tournament at the expense of crosstown rival Ray.

The Trojan beats the Texans, 3-2, to win Game 2 Friday at Whataburger Field and complete the series sweep.
