FREER, Texas – Francisca P. “Panchita” Flores, a long time resident of Freer, passed away on January 20, 2010 after a sudden illness. She was active with the REAL Adult Day Care Center in Benavides, Texas. She enjoyed dancing, spending time with her family and friends and collecting ceramic roosters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Flores; sister, Maria P. Tapia and a grandson.

Survivors include five daughters, Juanita (Noe) Canales of Odem, Texas; Jayne (Richard Jr.) Salinas of Freer, Texas; Rose (Silvestre Jr.) Moreno of Freer, Texas; Maria (Julio Jr.) Cantu of Freer, Texas; Cindy (Noe) Garcia of Alice, Texas; four brothers, Santiago Pina of Rosebud, Texas; Domingo Pina of Defiance, Ohio; Tomas Pina of Oklahoma; Pedro Pina of Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister, Otilia Guevara of Hebbronville, Texas; 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2010 at the Garza Funeral Home in Freer, Texas, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. that evening.  Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Freer, Texas.  Interment followed  at the Hahl Memorial Cemetery in Freer, Texas.
