ORANGE GROVE, Texas - Andres Deleon Sr., 71, died Thursday, September 20, 2007 in a Corpus Christi hospital after a long illness. Born in Hobson, Texas, he was a resident of Orange Grove, Texas, for the last 21 years and a retired farmer.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Viola Deleon and his son, Oscar Deleon.
Survivors include his wife, Macaria Deleon of Orange Grove; two brothers, Guadalupe Deleon of Orange Grove, and Pedro Deleon of Earth, Texas; one sister, Andrea Deleon of Three Rivers, Texas; five sons, Andy (Candy) Deleon of Sinton, Texas, Jose (Martha) Deleon of Skidmore, Texas, Marcos (Flora) Deleon of George West, Texas, Juan (Diana) Deleon of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Abel (Tina) Deleon of Orange Grove, Texas; four daughters, Eloisa (Canuto) Ortiz of Orange Grove, Lupe (Donald) Deleon of Sandia, Texas, Rose (Jimmy) Jerrell of Corpus Christi, and Senaida (Rene) Deleon of Orange Grove; and 18 grandchildren.
A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Friday, September 21, 2007 at Walker-Mora Funeral Horne Chapel in Alice, Texas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 22, 2007 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove, Texas, with burial to follow at Orange Grove Cemetery.

VICTORIA, Texas - Margarita M. "Wela" Dimas, 78, a resident of Victoria, Texas, since 1979 and a former resident of Freer, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 in a San Diego nursing home after a short illness, surrounded by her family.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking for all her family, and passed these skills on to her children and grandchildren.
The number one love of her life was her family. She was an individual who never gave up, never took "no" for an answer, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francisco R. Dimas; and her son, Jose Rene Dimas.
Survivors include her sons, Frank (Gloria) Dimas and Jesus Dimas, both of Freer, Texas, and Ruben (Sandra) Dimas of Victoria; her daughters, Irma (Rogelio) Torres and Elvira (Anthony) Sweck, both of Freer, Texas, and Ludivina (Ernest) Vasquez and Patty Lamas, both of Victoria; her brother, Valentin (Guadalupe) Martinez of Immokalee, Fla., and her sisters, Lilia Saenz and Crisanta (Pedro) Hernandez, both of San Diego, Texas, and Genoveva Gallegos of Immokalee, Fla.; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2007 at Garza Funeral Home in Freer, Texas, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Freer, Texas. Burial will follow at the Hahl Memorial Cemetery in Freer, Texas.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Harry Thomas Lawler III, 64, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Thomas Lawler Jr. and Grace Mae Frey Lawler; brother, Christopher Lawler; and two grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Diana Cavazos Lawler; his daughter, Sharon (Derek) Downs; three grandchildren; and three sisters, Kathleen (Gerard) McCabe, Anne (John) Putnam and Ellen Lawler.
Visitation will be Friday, September 21, 2007 from 4 to 6 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 5 p.m.
A funeral procession will depart Puente and Sons Funeral Chapels in San Antonio on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 8:30 a.m. for a 9 a.m. Mass to be held at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church.
Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Catholic High School Scholarship Fund.

PREMONT, Texas - Israel Reyes, 70, passed away Wednesday September 19, 2007 in a Corpus Christi hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born April 16, 1937 in Premont, Texas. He was a devoted member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, serving as both a Minister of the Eucharist and Lector. He served in the United States Air Force, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and retired from ExxonMobil. He was a loving husband and caring son, father and grandpa. He was preceded in death by his father, Feliciano Reyes Sr.; and by one brother, Noe Reyes.
Survivors include his devoted and loving wife of 48 years, Imelda Reyes Premont, Texas; two sons, Daniel (Anna) Reyes of Lake Charles, La., and Marcos (Melva) Reyes of Corpus Christi, Texas; his mother, Aurora Reyes of Premont, Texas; two sisters, Esperanza Pena of Houston, Texas, and Diana Barnes of McAllen, Texas; one brother, Feliciano Reyes Jr. of Houston Texas; and one granddaughter, Lauren Reyes of Lake Charles, La.
The family will receive friends and relatives at 2 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2007 at Alaniz Funeral Home of Falfurrias, with a Rosary to be recited that evening at 7 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church of Premont. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Premont, Texas. Burial will follow at the Premont Cemetery in Premont, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
