Cardona

SAN DIEGO, Texas - Ester Espinosa Cardona, 89, passed away peacefully August 25, 2007 at her family ranch with her family at her bedside. She was born May 10, 1918 to Alfredo and Concepcion Espinosa. She came to Texas when she was seven months old. She was a lifelong resident of San Diego. She enjoyed planting, gardening, and cooking for her family but especially loved the outdoor cooking in the "Monte" in her dutch ovens under a large mesquite tree with her chiliptin plants nearby. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Cardona; her son-in-law, Santiago Ramon Sendejo; one grandson, Santiago Ramon Sendejo Jr.; and one great-granddaughter, Maria E. Sendejo.

Survivors include her daughter, Rosaura V. Perez of San Diego, Texas; two grandchildren, Rodolfo (Isabel) Sendejo and Alvaro Perez, both of San Diego, Texas; nine great-grandchildren, Nora (Roberto Israel) Molina of Alice, Texas, and Monica (Jose Ernesto) Flores of Benavides, Texas, Yvette (Saul) Gonzalez, Santiago (Kimberly) Sendejo, Pelon (Sara) Gonzalez, Rudy, Ruby, Veronica, and Jackie Sendejo all of San Diego, Texas; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was at 5 p.m. Monday, August 27, 2007 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church and burial followed at the San Diego Cemetery No. 2.

Luna

SAN DIEGO, Texas - Arnulfo G. Luna, 56, a resident of San Diego, Texas, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reyes and Margarita Luna.

Survivors include his wife, Dora Luna of San Diego, Texas; his son, Luis Ramon (Kathy) Luna, of Oregon; his brothers, Antonio (Sylvia) Benavides and Arnoldo Luna, both of San Diego, Texas; his sisters, Amalia (Lupe) Morin of Alice, Texas, Angelita Gagliano of Houston, Texas, Anna (Arturo) Valerio of San Diego, Texas, and Adelita (Tim Tucker) Luna of Austin, Texas; a granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no services.

Stillman

CONCEPCION - Juan Stillman Jr., 89, of Concepcion, Texas, passed away August 23, 2007 surrounded by family after a short illness.

Stillman was married for 61 years to Alma (Barrera) Stillman, formerly of Falfurrias.

He was born in Conception, Texas in 1918 to Otilia Garcia and Juan Stillman. He was raised in Concepcion (La Chona) where he lived and ranched until his death.

He was a successful cattleman who loved his animals. He spent 28 years delivering mail as a U.S. postal route man to the households and ranches of the area.

He served in the Army from 1941 to 1945 and was part of the Normandy, North France, the Ardennes and Rhineland campaigns with the First Infrantry Division. He earned decorations for his service including the EAME campaign medal with five Bronze Stars, the American Defense Service Medal and the Distinguished Unit Badge.

He is survived by his children, Alma Lee (Adolfo) Reyes of McAllen, Texas, and Juan (Rosalinda) Stillman III of Alamo, Texas; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Olivia Martinez of Falfurrias and Otilia (Rudy) Lopez of Falfurrias; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Alaniz Funeral Home in Falfurrias. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2007 at Purisima Catholic Church in Concepcion, Texas. Burial followed in the Garcia Cemetery in Concepcion, Texas.

Trigo

SAN DIEGO, Texas - Francisco "Pancho" Trigo, Jr., 73, a lifelong resident of San Diego, Texas, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2007 after a sudden illness.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Oralia M. Trigo; his parents, Francisco and Gertrudis Trigo; his son, Luis F. Trigo Sr.; and his daughter, Graciela (Gracie) Trigo.

Survivors include his sons, Orlando "Lando" (Lydia Rodriguez) Trigo, Daniel "Danny" (Yaya) Trigo and Ruben Trigo, all of San Diego, Texas; his daughters, Diana (Salome) Espinoza and Melissa (Ray) Hernandez, both of San Diego, Texas; his brother, Leonardo "Nano" (Linda) Trigo of Freer, Texas; his sisters, Amalia (Oscar Longoria) Trejo of San Diego, Benita (Cano) Martinez of La Rosita, Alicia Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, Juanita T. (Bolle) Saenz of San Diego, Rosario (Juan) Garcia of Alice and Estella Montemayor; 21 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 24, 2007 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas. Burial followed at the San Diego Cemetery.

Garcia

SAN DIEGO, Texas - Francisca F. Garcia, 79, a long time resident of San Diego, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2007 after a long illness. She assisted in her father's family business, El Nuevo Mundo Dry Goods Store. She graduated from Texas A & I University in Kingsville, Texas, and taught home economics for several years before marrying and raising her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raul F. Garcia; her parents, Ignacio and Angelica Fuentes; and an infant son, Victor Thomas Garcia.

Survivors include her children, Sister Elsa E. Garcia C.D.P. of San Antonio, Texas, Raul E. (Clara) Garcia of McAllen, Texas, and Edith E. (Dr. John) Partin of Harlingen, Texas; her two sisters, Alicia (Hector) Leal of Kingsville, Texas, and Evangelina (Victor) Uresit of San Antonio, Texas, and her seven grandchildren.

Visitation was held Monday, August 27, 2007 at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas. Vigil for the Deceased was observed and a Rosary recited that evening. Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego. Burial followed at the San Diego Cemetery.
