FREER Alice Nadine Hamilton passed away in Laredo, Texas on Friday, April 11, 2008 after a lengthy illness.

Nadine was born in Waco, Texas, on September 12, 1918 to Nada and Jim Dickerson. She spent most of her childhood years in Desdemona, Texas, but moved to Freer in the late 1930s to raise her family. She later lived in Ft. Worth, Texas, and Grants, N.M., before she eventually returned to her beloved South Texas and Freer in 1964 and made it her permanent home. She was employed as an assembly line supervisor at Liberator Village in Ft. Worth during World War II. She served as a postal clerk with the Freer Post Office and later retired as the manager of the Freer Federal Credit Union. Her greatest joys in life were her music, dancing, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Malloy A. Hamilton; her son, R.A. Sparkman Jr.; her son-in-law, Roy D. Baldwin; and her brother, James Dickenson.

She is survived by her children, Radeane Baldwin of Kerrville, Texas, Neil J. Dickenson of Pharr, Texas, Lu Sparkman of Laredo, Texas; and her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her dear friend, Mari Barraz of Laredo.

On behalf of Nadine, her family wishes a not of gratitude to Dr. Luis Benavides, the employees of Regent Care Center and Doctors Hospital and her private care-givers for their compassionate concern during her lengthy illness.

Visitation will be Monday, April 14, 2008 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 14, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park in Alice, Texas.

Villarreal

SAN DIEGO Juan A. Villarreal Jr., 21, a longtime resident of San Diego, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2008. He was a 2005 Graduate of San Diego High School. He loved his nieces, nephews and enjoyed being with his family. He was well liked and a very intelligent auto mechanic who enjoyed working on cars; he also enjoyed the art of drawing.

He was preceded in death by his father his father Juan A. Villarreal Sr. and his brothers, Juan Villarreal, Ramon Villarreal and Benjamin Villarreal.

He is survived by his mother, Agustina G. Villarreal of San Diego, Texas; his sisters, Abilgail Villarreal, Delia G. (Polo Perez) Villarreal and Yolanda G. (Mike) Villarreal, all of San Diego, Texas; his half-sisters, Emilia Villarreal of Corpus Christi, Texas, Betty Sue Rosas of Anaville, Texas, and Lilly Trevino of Gregory, Texas; his nieces, Rebecca Lynn Trigo, Jessie Kae Torres, Alexis Dynn Bratten and Regeana Ann Rochester; his nephews, Keith Michael Bratten Jr., Gavin Michael Wilson, Kaleb Ryan Villarreal and his uncle, Andres Villarreal of Odem, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas, Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2008 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery in San Diego, Texas.
