ALICE, Texas – Juanita Garcia, 82, died Saturday, April 19, 2008 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born August 23, 1925 in Palito Blanco, Texas, the daughter of Benito and Felicita (Flores) Aguirre. She was a long time resident of Alice, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her husband, Francisco Garcia, in 1995.

Survivors include a son, Elizardo (Linda) Garcia of Katy, Texas; four daughters, Olga Buentello of Hearne, Texas, Diana (Juan) Garza of Kingsville, Texas, and Amy (Carlos) Chavarria and Rori (Neo) Rea, both of Alice, Texas; a brother: Benito Aguirre of Alice; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Other survivors include Luis Buentello of Laredo, Texas, and Salomon Rea Jr. of Alice, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2008 at Roberson Funeral Home in Alice, Texas with a Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. that evening.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in the New Collins Cemetery in Alice, Texas.

Perez

SAN DIEGO, Texas – Blanca Garcia Perez, 88, a lifelong resident of San Diego, Texas, died Sunday, April 20, 2008 at her residence with her family at her bedside. She was a member of the Thursday Club of San Diego for more than 60 years, and enjoyed sewing, baking and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Perez Jr.; a brother, Ernesto Leopoldo Garcia; a sister, Rosa Garcia Villasenor; and a sister-in-law, Diana Perez Gongora.

Blanca is survived by a daughter, Elvira Carmen Perez of San Diego, Texas; three sons, Luis Antonio Perez and Julian Adrian Perez, both of San Diego, Texas, and Ernesto Amadeo (Sandra) Perez of Hebbronville, Texas; one sister, Esperanza Garcia Cadena of San Diego, Texas; one sister-in-law, Olga Salazar of Monterrey, Mexico; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2008 at the Garza Funeral Home in San Diego with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery in San Diego, Texas.

Reynolds

HARLINGEN, Texas – George L. Reynolds passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at the age of 79. He was born and raised in Alice, Texas, and has resided in Harlingen, Texas, since 1969. He was the terminal manager of The Trailways/Greyhound Bus Station for 34 years. He will be remembered for his smile, his passion for the Longhorns and music. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Josefina Reynolds; his three brothers, Juan Jose Reynolds, Oscar Reynolds, and Richard Reynolds; and two sisters, Emma Kubala and Maria Socorro Ruiz.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Reynolds; his two daughters, Linda (Robert) Benevides, Brenda (Ron) Alvarez; one son, George Jr. (Thelma) Reynolds; two brothers, Carlos (Maria Elena) Reynolds, Rene (Melba) Reynolds; one sister, Edna Kubala; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Viewing was held on Friday, April 11, 2008, from 2 to 9 p.m. with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. A church service was held on Saturday, April 12, 2008, at 3 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.

ALICE, Texas – Arturo Pasqual Salinas, 38, of Alice, Texas passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008 in a Corpus Christi hospital.

He is preceded in death by three uncles, Seferino “Chaca” Salinas, Sabino Oscar Araiza Jr. and Oscar Araiza; paternal grandparents, Octavio Sr. and Dorita G. Salinas; and maternal grandparents, Sabino Araiza Sr. and Pilar P. Villarreal.

Survivors include his parents, Pasqual and Lydia A. Salinas of Alice, Texas; his spouse, Barbara Ramirez of Alice, Texas; one sister, Ada S. Martinez of Alice, one nephew, Aaron (April G.) Martinez of Alice, Texas; one niece, Atalie Martinez of Alice, Texas; one son, Joseph Lerma of Dallas, Texas; two stepchildren, Steven and Justynn Davila of Alice, Texas; six uncles, Conrado (Sandra) Villarreal Jr. of Kenedy, Texas, Octavio (Elida) Salinas Jr. of Alice, Texas, Roberto (Ana) Salinas of Corpus Christi, Texas, Adalberto “Beto” (Elvia) Salinas of Laredo, Texas, Raul (Yolanda) Salinas, of Laredo, Texas and Eluid (Ofelia) Salinas of San Antonio, Texas; three aunts, Lucilla S. De Leon, Petra S. (Baldemar) Silva and Virginia G. Araiza, all of Alice, Texas; three nephews and numerous cousins.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Chapel A, Ruben M. Garcia and Sons Funeral Services with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at New Collins Cemetery.
