Carlos Gonzalez, 68, of Banquete, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, in a Corpus Christi hospital with his family by his side.

He was born Oct. 15, 1939, in Beeville to Juan C. and Guadalupe Barrera Gonzalez and lived in Robstown most of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Guadalupe Gonzalez and Juan Gilberto Gonzalez; a sister, Aide Lopez; and a granddaughter, Celinda Rodriguez.

He is survived by his wife, Manuela "Nellie" Marroquin Gonzalez of Banquete; his children, Nora (Armando) Longoria of Corpus Christi, Eddie (Virginia) Gonzalez, Jorge (Lucinda) Gonzalez, both of Banquete, Dora (Alberto) Rojas of Robstown, and Carlos Javier (Cindy) Gonzalez of Round Rock; five brothers, Juan (Aurora) Gonzalez Jr. of Robstown, Raul (Clara) Gonzalez and Reynaldo (Yolanda) Gonzalez, both of Salinas, Calif., Ramiro (Oralia) Gonzalez of King City, Calif., and Hector Gonzalez of Long Beach, Calif.; three sisters, Rosario (Everett) Brown of Virginia, Alicia (Anthony) Vigue of Robstown, and Criselda Gonzalez of El Cerrito, Calif.; his sister-in-law, Rebecca Gonzalez of Corpus Christi; his brother-in-law, Sergio Lopez of Salinas, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 14 and 15, in the Robstown Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial followed in Robstown Memorial Park.
