SAN DIEGO, Texas - Aminta Saenz, 92 years old, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2007 after a short illness. Aminta was a native of Loma Alta Ranch and was a former employee of R&S Gonzalez (Western Wear Store) in San Diego, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isidro and Carolina Lopez Saenz; two brothers, Anatolio L. Saenz and Aaron L. Saenz; sister, Amina S. Tobin; sister-in-law, Maria "Cuca" Saenz; and three brothers-in-law, Jesus Tobin, Alvino Mendoza and Pedro Bazan.

Survivors include her brother, Angel L. (Delia) Saenz of Laredo, Texas; three sisters, Areopajita S. Mendoza of Lockhart, Texas, Adelaida S. Bazan of Benavides, Texas, Andrea S. Lalo Reyna of Corpus Christi, Texas; her sister-in-law, Judith G. Saenz of Alice, Texas; and 29 nieces and nephews.

A Rosary was recited Monday, June 25, 2007 at 7 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home Chapel in San Diego, Texas. Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church and burial followed at Loma Alta Cemetery in Loma Alta Ranch, Texas.

Saenz

ALICE, Texas - Michael Anthony Saenz, 41, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2007 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Michael was a truck driver employed by S.T.S. Performance Fluids for eight months. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Olga and Andres Saenz Jr., and his paternal grandparents, Rosaura and Eustorgio Saenz.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Anthony Saenz Jr. and John Michael Saenz, both of Alice, Texas; one daughter, Ariel Marie Saenz, of Alice, Texas; parents Olga and Avelino K. Saenz, of Alice, Texas; one brother, Patrick E. (Elizabeth) Saenz, of Ft. Polk, La.; two sisters, Angela M. Saenz, of Alice, Texas, and Victoria M. Saenz, of Austin, Texas; two nieces, Leyla F. Shaath and Mireya A. Montes, both of Alice, Texas; and one nephew, Patrick E. Saenz Jr., of Ft. Polk, La.

Rosary was recited Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home of Alice at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church and burial followed at the New Collins Cemetery.

SAN DIEGO, Texas - Cruz S. Salaiz, 88, passed away June 22, 2007 in a Corpus Christi hospital.

He was a rancher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Primitivo and Juanita S. Salaiz.

Survivors include his wife, Luisa R. Salaiz of San Diego, Texas; seven sons, Pedro Salaiz of San Diego, Texas, Ricardo (Anabel) Salaiz of Austin, Texas, Amando (Nacha) Salaiz of San Diego, Texas, Jose Salaiz of Houston, Texas, Jesus (Maria) Garcia of San Diego, Texas, Servando (Rosanna) Garcia of Alice, Texas, and Tomas (Benita) Garcia of Wichita Falls, Texas; seven daughters, Tomasa (Alonzo) Garcia of San Diego, Texas, Juanita (Nene) Cadena of Robstown, Texas, Aurora Resendez of Alice, Texas, Lydia (Alonzo) Guerra of San Diego, Texas, Evangelina (Juan) Banda of Grand Rapids, Mich., Anabelina (Patricio) Vidal and Diana Lazo, both of San Diego, Texas; one brother, Jesus Salaiz of San Diego, Texas; one sister, Maria Trinidad Hassette of San Diego, Texas; 63 grandchildren, 133 great-grandchildren, 67 great-great-grandchildren, two great-great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wiederkehr

GEORGETOWN, Texas - Virgil Leon Wiederkehr, 82, passed away June 22, 2007 in Georgetown, Texas. He was born March 23, 1925 in Freer, Texas, to Henry and Eva Riley Wiederkehr. He was a retired geologist. He was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Wiederkehr; and by a grandson, Gene Wiederkehr Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian Wiederkehr of Georgetown; three sons, Gene (Pat) Wiederkehr of Alice, Michael (Kathy) Wiederkehr of Austin and David (Kathleen) Wiederkehr of Round Rock; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, June 25, 2007 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, June 26, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. that evening at Holmgreen Mortuary in Alice.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in the Alice Cemetery.
