FREER, Texas - Maria G. Chapa, 83, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2008 in a San Antonio hospital. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cruz and Antonia Garcia.
Survivors include one daughter, Rose Marie (Jesse) Nunez of Floresville, Texas; three brothers, Jose ( Amelia) Garcia of San Antonio, Texas, Enrique ( Alicia) Garcia of Ranada Hills, Calif., and Ernesto (Juanita) Garcia of Alice, Texas; four sisters, Ester Saenz, Elvira Echartea, Eloisa (Pedro) Perez and Carmen Gonzales, all of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Chapel of Freer. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2008 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial following at the Hahl Memorial Park Cemetery in Freer, Texas.

SAN DIEGO, Texas - San Juanita Jones, 57, died February 18, 2008 in a Corpus Christi hospital. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Casimiro and Aurelia Jones; and by one granddaughter: Angel Rubalcava.
Survivors include two sons, Juan (Flor) Briones of Killeen, Texas, and Norberto Briones of San Diego, Texas; two daughters, Yvonne (Rene Rubalcava) Briones and Donna Jones, both of San Diego, Texas; one brother, Fermin Jones of Corpus Christi, Texas; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was at 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church and burial followed at the San Diego Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mauro P.
