ROBSTOWN, Texas – Minnie R. Betancourt, 75, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2008. She was born on April 30, 1933 in Robstown, Texas, to Guadalupe and Antonia Musquiz Ramon. She resided in Alice, Corpus Christi, Houston, Stafford and Robstown, Texas, in the later years of her life. She was a Catholic and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her son, Baldemar Betancourt.
Survivors include her husband, Manuel Betancourt of Robstown, Texas; her children, Benito Betancourt of Robstown, Texas, Belinda (Hector) Nava, Beatrice (David) Judge, Bernadette Betancourt and Benjamin Betancourt, all of Denver, Colo., and Bernardo Betancourt of Houston, Texas; her two brothers, Jimmy Ramon and Matias (Jovita) Ramon, both of Corpus Christi; her five sisters, Anita (the late Jesus) Escareno and Lupita Verdin, both of Robstown, Bertha (Benny) Martinez and Mary Clark, both of Corpus Christi, and Angelita Perez of Calallen; 21 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas. Interment followed at Memorial Park Cemetery.
