FREER – John A. Brieden, Jr., 87, passed away August 31, 2012 in Round Rock, Texas. He was born December 26, 1924 in Realitos to Alice and John A. Brieden Sr. He was a former longtime resident of Freer, a World War II veteran and a retired oilfield gauger. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, three sisters and his wives, Jewell Brown Brieden and Margery Laurene B. Brieden.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy (Russell) Hellmann of Round Rock and Janice (Ronald) Poole of Ft. Scott Air Force Base; one son, John A. (Terry) Brieden III of Brenham, one sister, Georgia Gentry of Round Rock,three step-sons, Charles (Renee) Bazar of Brenham, Kenneth (Judy) Bazar of Henderson, Nevada and Dan (Kimberley) Bazar of Round Rock; three grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, September 2 at Holmgreen Mortuary with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Monday, September 3, 2012 at the Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Military honors will be conducted by the United Veterans Burial Association of Alice.
