ALICE, Texas - David S. Perez, 77, of Alice, Texas, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2008.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gregorio and Petra Perez; and by one brother, Gregorio Perez Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Maria Alicia Perez of Alice, Texas; two sons, David (Mary) Perez of Texas City and Gilbert (Esmeralda) Perez of Alice, Texas; four daughters, Elva (Joe) Alaniz of Alice, Texas, Elsa Garcia of Corpus Christi, Texas, Elia (Joe) Gonzalez of Alice, Texas, and Mary Alice (Lupe) Martinez also of Alice, Texas; one brother, Roberto (Hela) Perez and one sister, Martita Perez, both of Alice, Texas, 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Chapel A, Garcia and Sons Funeral Services. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2008 at our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.

Solis

AUSTIN, Texas - CMSgt. Pedro G. Solis, USAF (Ret.), 78, departed on his last Permanent Change of Station (PCS) on February 25, 2008, in Austin, Texas.

Solis entered into the Air Force on June 1948 and retired on August 1978. He retired with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant after 30 years of proud, distinguished and honorable service to his country and the United States Air Force.

Pedro was born June 24, 1929 in San Diego, Texas. After his career with the Air Force, he worked for the General Land Office for the State of Texas, and retired after 20 years of service.

He was a founder and member of the Club Sembradores of Austin for many years. His departure leaves a void in all the hearts that he touched - a void extremely difficult to fill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosalio and Guadalupe Solis; sister, Delia Bridges; and brothers, Gilberto, Ricardo, Rosalio Jr. and Rodolfo Solis.

The loved ones he left behind to remember a great man are his beloved wife of 52 years, Connie; much loved foster children Virginia Skaggs of Chillicothe, Ohio, Jose (Ada) Vera of San Antonio, Texas, and Norma (David) Dillard (David) of Round Rock, Texas; sister Elia Hinojosa, of Alice, Texas; brother Raymundo (Rosie) Solis, of Yuma, Ariz., Edmundo (Margie) Solis, of Poway, Calif.; grandchild Jake Dillard and four older grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church, 10205 Ranch Road 620, North Austin, Texas, 78726, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday February 28, 2008 at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
