ORANGE GROVE, Texas - Ettie Helen Dunlap went to be with our Lord Wednesday, January 23, 2008. Helen was born in Kingsville, October 7, 1927 to Dorse and Ettie Smith. After she graduated from high school in San Diego, Texas, in 1944, Helen moved to Robstown where she worked for the General Telephone Company as an operator until her marriage to W.H. Dunlap in 1948. She was devoted to her two sons and was affectionately known as "Auntie" to her nieces and nephews and "Grandma Auntie" to their children. Helen always greeted you with a smile no matter her circumstance.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Charles R. Dunlap; and a brother, Dorse Ray Smith.
She is survived by her loving sister, Leola (Phil) Adams of Alfred, Texas; her son, Dwight E. Dunlap of Helena, Mont.; other survivors include her nieces and nephews, Terry Galloway, Rob (Phyllis) Adams and Tammy (Jeff) Hahn, all of Alfred, Texas, Tancy (David) Herschap of Orange Grove, Texas, Diane (Charles) Lange of Phoenix, Ariz., and Charles (Rosie) Smith of Beeville, Texas. She will also be missed by numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Robstown Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas, with the funeral service to be conducted at 2 p.m. that day. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Gunn, Luzio Lamb, David Contreras, Robert Galvan, David Herschap, Rob Adams, Fred Frazier and Jeff Hahn.
