ALICE, Texas - Nelda G. Gamez, 53, passed away October 26, 2007 in a Corpus Christi hospital. She was a graduate of Alice High School and a graduate of Texas AandI Kingsville. Nelda was an employee for Texas A and M Kingsville, for Special Programs as a Teacher-Counselor. She was preceded in death by her father Felix F. Gonzalez.
Survivors include her husband, Rodolfo P. Gamez of Alice, Texas; two sons, Alfonso Gamez of Alice, Texas, and Rodolfo "Rudy" (Vanessa D. Garza) Gamez of San Diego, Texas; three daughters, Monica (Lee M.) Landis of Alice, Texas, Lisa G. (Dylan R.) DeReese of San Diego, Texas, and Elisa Christy Gamez of Alice, Texas; her mother, Alejandra R. Marquez of Alice, Texas; two brothers, Oscar (Eva) Gonzalez of San Diego, Texas, and Romeo (Melinda) Gonzalez of Alice, Texas; one sister, Viola (Juan) Ramirez of San Diego, Texas; six grandchildren, numerous aunts, one uncle, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation began at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2007 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home Chapel in Alice, Texas, with a Rosary recited that evening at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday October 29, 2007 at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice, Texas. Burial will follow at Roberson-Collins Cemetery in Alice, Texas.

ALICE, Texas - Alberto "Beto" Ibanez Jr., 67, passed away October 27, 2007 in a Corpus Christi hospital. He was born August 18, 1940 in Hebbronville, Texas to Alberto and Genoveva Ibanez. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus Council #2992. Beto had many friends and was a senior member of the "Coffee Club" of Bryson's and later of McDonalds. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Alfonso Ibanez; and one brother-in-law, Balderma Hinojosa.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Angelita "Angie" Ibanez of Alice; two daughters, Annabelle (Ernesto) Hernandez and Annette Ibanez, both of San Antonio, Texas; one son, Alfonso Alberto Ibanez (fianc/e Maria T. Amaro) of Alice; six sisters, Graciela (Emilio) Bernal of Alice, Gertrudes (Adolfo) Chapa of Corpus Christi, Texas, Rosita (Jesus) Curiel and Pricilla (Gabriel) Chapa, both of Annaville, Texas, Juanita (Ildelfonso) Hernandez of Benavides, Texas, and Genoveva (Alfredo) Cardenas of Pflugerville, Texas; one brother, Leonel (Lupe) Ibanez of Alice; two grandchildren, Marcus Andrew Ibanez of Alice and Sophia Lysbeth Hernandez of San Antonio; two sisters-in-law, Maria Hinojosa of Alice and Juanita (Ramiro) Escobar of Corpus Christi; two brothers-in-law, Romeo (Ester) Hinojosa and Roberto (Mirtha) Hinojosa, both of Alice; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Sunday, October 28, 2007 from 4 to 9 p.m. and will be Monday, October 29, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m with a Rosary recited that evening at 7 p.m. at the Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Alice. Burial will follow in New Collins Cemetery.

LEWISVILLE, Texas - Leonel Jimenez, 41, died Friday, October 26, 2007 in a Dallas hospital following a sudden illness.
He was born to Arturo and Maria Jimenez on January 27, 1965 in Alice, Texas.
Survivors include his mother, Maria Jimenez of Alice, Texas; five brothers, Manuel (Linda) Jimenez, Alonzo (Sara) Jimenez and Tony Jimenez, all of Alice, Texas, Gilbert (Irene) Jimenez of Carrollton, Texas, and Romeo Jimenez of Lewisville, Texas; three sisters, Juanita (Robert) Hernandez and Guadalupe (Enrique) Hernandez, both of Alice, Texas, and Veronica (Basilio) Licerio of Converse, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will be recited Monday, October 29, 2007 at 7 p.m. in the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel in Alice, Texas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the St, Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Roberson-Collins Cemetery in Alice, Texas.

PREMONT, Texas - Charles "Chuck" E. Maderer, 88, passed away on October 26, 2007 following a lengthy bout with pneumonia. He was born in Premont, Texas, on April 21, 1919, graduated high school there, and lived all of his life in the Premont area. He married Lucille Smith on August 30, 1937 at Rosita, Texas. He worked as a roughneck, driller and contact gauger in the oilfield. He owned a Magnolia service station in Premont, owned a farm and dairy and drove heavy equipment. He was very active in school projects such as the local rodeos and was a member of Farm Bureau and the First United Methodist Church of Premont. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Charles Jr.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Maderer; his brothers Ed, Ted, Arthur and Bill; and his sisters Esther, Margaret and Kathryn.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Lucille, sister, Frieda Taylor formerly of Three Rivers, Texas; daughter Ruby (Bob) Masters of Premont; son Mike Maderer of Wright City, Okla.;, a daughter-in-law, seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
The funeral was held Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Premont, Texas, with burial following at the Premont Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Ana Rutz of Mathis, Texas; six sons, Leroy Soliz of Corpus Christi, Texas, Larry Soliz, Ruben Soliz III and Brandon Soliz of Mathis, Texas, Justin Soliz of Ben Bolt, Texas, and Zachary Soliz of Mathis, Texas; his mother, Esther Posada of Mathis, Texas; father, Ruben (Alma) Soliz Sr. of San Diego, Texas; five sisters, Ester (Rudy) Hernandez and Linda (Frank Garcia) Cano, both of Mathis, Monica Soliz of Corpus Christi, Texas, Ruby Soliz and Rachel Soliz, both of San Diego, Texas; two brothers, Ray (Priscilla) Soliz of Mathis, Ruben Lee (Carla) Soliz of San Diego, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

ALICE, Texas - Loretha Tschoepe, 99, passed away October 27, 2007 in an Alice nursing home. She was born January 15, 1909 in Goose Creek, Texas, to Milton Thomas Kelso and Lottie Self Kelso.
She was a L.V.N. for Alice P. and S. Hospital for 25 years. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue (Jimmy) Wyche of Tomball, Texas, and Joyce (Peter) Payette of Aiken, S.C.; one brother, Thomas Kelso of Premont, Texas; seven grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 28, 2007 from 1 to 9 p.m. at Holmgreen Mortuary in Alice.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday October 29, 2007 at the Alice Cemetery.
