Barrera

SAN DIEGO, Texas - Carmen Vasquez Barrera, 87, passed away July 23, 2007 Alice hospital. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Barrera on April 18, 1995; her parents, Marcos Sr. and Preciliana R. Vasquez; her stepmother, Barbarita Vasquez; daughter, Tomasita G. Vasquez; and sister, Lupita Ibanez.

Survivors include her three brothers, Marcos (Rosalinda) Vasquez of Alice, Texas, Nick (Juanita) Vasquez of Mathis, Texas, and Juan (Janice) Vasquez of Fortuna, Calif.; two sisters, Felicita Vasquez of San Diego, Texas, and Marina (Rudy) Garcia of Alice; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church with burial following at the San Diego Cemetery.

Gonzalez

SAN DIEGO, Texas - Dario Gonzalez, 42, a lifelong resident of San Diego, Texas, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007. He was preceded in death by his father, Juan F. Gonzalez. Survivors include his mother, Herminia R. Gonzalez of San Diego, Texas; his brothers, Luis Armando Gonzalez and Macedonio Gonzalez, both of San Diego, Texas, Juan A. (Elsa Cavero) and Wenceslado (Maria) Gonzalez, both of Freer, Texas; his sisters, Lucilla (Camilo Garza) Gonzalez and Sonia Gonzalez, both of San Diego, Texas, Albesa "Bessie" (Eliazar) Gonzalez of Rios, Texas, and Celina Gonzalez of San Diego, Texas. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas. Burial followed at the San Diego Cemetery.

Sanchez

SAN DIEGO, Texas - Rosa S. "Rosita" Sanchez, 98, a lifelong resident of San Diego, Texas, died Sunday, July 29, 2007 at her daughter's residence with her family by her bedside.

She enjoyed spending her time reading her Bible and other books, and served as an advisor for friends and family seeking her wisdom.

She was a mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Sanchez; a daughter, Josefina Sanchez; and four brothers.

Survivors include a son, Antonio Sanchez of Kingsville, Texas; a daughter, Minerva (Bartolo) Vela of San Diego, Texas; a sister, Francisca De La Rosa of San Diego, Texas; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2007 at the Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery.
