BENAVIDES, Texas - Robert "Bobby" Garcia, 50, a resident of Benavides, Texas, for more than 25 years, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 after a short illness. He was a lifelong enthusiast of Star Trek and an original "Trekkie." He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Norberto and Amadora Perez; paternal grandparents, Josias and Luz F. Garcia; and two uncles.

Survivors include his parents, Romulo and Dora Garcia of Benavides; his brother, Richard (Anabel) Garcia, of Benavides; his two sisters, Annette Garcia and Debora (Shawn) Roach, both of Colleyville, Texas; seven nieces and nephews, a great nephew, an uncle and two aunts.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2007 at Immaculate Concepcion Catholic Church in Concepcion. Burial will follow at the Perez Cemetery in Concepcion.

Garza

FREER, TEXAS - Servando F. "Muralla" Garza, 79 a lifelong resident of Freer, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 in San Diego, Texas, after a long illness. He was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W.II. He worked in the oilfield business all of his life. He enjoyed watching sports, especially football and baseball.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horacio and Juliana Garza; his brother, Horacio Armando Garza; and a sister, Delia G. Lopez.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Jovita S. Garza of Freer, Texas; his four sons, Servando Garza Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif., and Rene Amador Garza, Armando (Diana) Garza and Orlando (Ana) Garza, all of Freer; his two brothers, Oscar Garza Sr. of Freer, and Heberto (Elena) Garza of San Diego; his four sisters, Lydia G. Rangel of Freer, Texas, Diana (Conrado Jr.) Lichtenberger, Sylvia Serna and Nancy (Raul) Gonzalez all of San Diego; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Garza Funeral Home in Freer, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Angel Montano as celebrant. Military graveside services will be conducted by the San Diego VFW Post #8931 at the San Diego Cemetery in San Diego.

ALICE, Texas - Jose Jimenez, 67, of Alice, Texas, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2007. He lived in California for 32 years; and coached a Pop Warner Football League team for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Concepcion Jimenez; a sister, Luisa Molina; three brothers, Nicolas, Elias and Marcelino Jimenez; one son, Alfonso Jimenez; his father-in-law, Daniel Soto; and a brother-in-law, Alonzo Soto.

Survivors include his wife, Delmira Jimenez of Alice; three sons, Jose Jimenez Jr. of Alice, Daniel (Melissa) Jimenez of Pearland, Texas, and David (Jovanna) Jimenez of Alice; two daughters, Armandina Jimenez of Atlanta, Ga., and Anna (Adan) Charles of Palito Blanco; his mother-in-law, Amalia Soto of Alice; three brothers, Crispin (Elma) Jimenez of Ben Bolt, Justo (Eustolia) Jimenez of Alice, Texas, and Pedro (Yolanda) J.R. Jimenez of Laredo; two sisters, Elvira (Pedro) Flores and Luciana Gonzalez of Manor, Texas; two brothers-in-law, Eduardo (Tina) Soto of San Antonio and Bernardo (Janie) Soto of Garden Grove, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Elvira (Jesus "Chuy") Salinas and Melba (Joseph) Martinez, both of Alice; six grandchildren, Victoria Jimenez of Pearland, Texas, Jenna Charles of Palito Blanco, Andrea and Gabriela Jimenez of Alice, A. ALICE, Texas - Teodora L. Perez, 92, of Alice, Texas, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2007. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anselmo and Leonarda Longoria; her husband, Santos Elpidio Perez; a daughter, Evelyn H. Salazar; a son-in-law, Joe David Garza; three brothers, Domingo, Gonzalo and Pablo Longoria; and four sisters, Flavia Almaraz, Josefina Reynolds, Natalia Trevino and Rebecca Trevino.

Survivors include her dauhter, Melba (Abelardo Jr.) Gonzalez of Alice; granddaughters raised as daughters, Imelda Garza of Hebbronville, and Evelyn (Rey) Rodriguez of Alice; four grandchildren, Cynthia (Orlando) Salinas of Harlingen, Lillian (Adan) Davila, Abelardo Gonzalez III and Melba (Eduardo) Rosas, all of Alice, Texas; 13 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

ALICE, Texas - Oscar Salinas Sr., 38, died Monday, September 24, 2007 from injuries sustained from an automobile accident. Born and raised in Alice, he was a resident of Houston, and he was employed with Unit Drilling as a derrickman. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ismael Trevino and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Abel Salinas Sr. and a niece, Gisele Salinas.

He is survived by, his wife, Yvonne Perez Salinas of Alice; mother, Eliza Morales; his father, Fidel Salinas; a brother, Albert Salinas; and two sisters, Corina and Lizette Salinas; his children, Oscar Salinas Jr., Brittany and Brianna Salinas, Ricardo Molina Jr., Mark Andrew Molina, Emma Estelle Maldonado and Daniel Javier Roman, all of Alice; and 12 nieces and nephews.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Walker-Mora Funeral Home Chapel in Alice. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, September 28, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice with burial at New Collins Cemetery-Alice.

ALICE, Texas - Carlotta Torres, 73, passed away September 25, 2007 in a Corpus Christi hospital after a sudden illness. She retired from Hughetts Dress Shop after 20 years of service. She also retired with 20 years of service from Entex Gas Company. She was preceded in death by her parents, Teodoro and Jesusa Gonzalez; her husband, Aurelio Torres; son, Enrique "Kike" Torres; two brothers, Ernesto Gonzalez and Rey Gonzalez; one sister, Demetria Soliz.

Survivors include two daughters, Diana Cuellar (Raul Monsevais) of Alice, and Cindy Torres (Ovidio Sembrano Jr.) of Alice; five brothers, Leopoldo (Rita) Gonzalez of Alice, Teodoro (Olga) Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, Victor (Luisa) Gonzalez of Ft.
