DeRidder, LA. - Marga "Peggy" Gruber, 73, passed away Friday, September 7, 2007 at Christus St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles. La.
She was born in Augsburg, Germany, but lived most of her life in DeRidder. She was a life member of VFW Post 2619 Ladies Auxiliary in DeRidder, holding several local, district and state offices. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in DeRidder.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas Rudolph (Edie) Gruber of Lumberton, Texas, Clifford Norman Gruber of Lafayette, La., and Russel (Gracie) Gruber of Alice, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Lloyd L. (Sonya) Lambert and her husband Lloyd "Sonny" of DeRidder; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2007 at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder with Rev. Richard Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder.

FREER - Francis H. "Jonese" Jones, 67, a longtime resident of Freer, died September 6, 2007 at his residence in Freer after a sudden illness.
He was bron in Potsdam, N.Y., to his parents, Herbert and Melvina Jones. He was retired from Bay, Inc. after 15 years of employment. He enjoyed playing war games and his hobby was discovering items with his metal detector.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorenza P. Jones, and his parents.
Survivors include three daughters, Cricelia (Michael) Lopez of Alice, Sally Garcia of Freer and Monica (Miguel) Beltran of Dallas; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at noon Sunday, September 9, 2007 and funeral services will follow at Garza Funeral Home of Freer at 2 p.m. with Brother Joe Carrales officiating. Military graveside services and burial will follow at Las Piedrietas Cemetery 2.
