ALICE, Texas – Arnoldo H. “Cuate” Hinojosa, 69, passed away January 27, 2010 in an Alice nursing home after a long illness. He was a retired welder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugenio and Lucinda Hinojosa; two brothers, Lupito and Octavio Hinojosa; four sisters, Leonar Garcia, Elida Perez Ylda Hinojosa and Santos Gonzalez; and his in-laws, Pedro and Fidela Chapa.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Magdalena C. “Maggie” Hinojosa of San Antonio, Texas; three sons, Orlando (Ana Rea) Hinojosa of Alice, Texas, Roland Hinojosa of San Antonio, Texas, and Arnoldo (Lucia) Hinojosa Jr. of Alice, Texas; three sisters, Idalia Garcia of San Diego, Texas, Lydia Centeno of San Antonio, Texas, and Alma A. “Cuata” Lopez of Montclair, Calif.; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2010 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home Chapel in Alice with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Dilworth Cemetery in Midway, Texas.
