BEN BOLT, Texas - Elida P. Garcia, 92, passed away November 3, 2007 at her residence in Ben Bolt, Texas. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alejo Garcia; one sister, Olivia P. Ramirez; and one niece, Dalia P. Guerra.
Survivors include a sister, Odilia P. Guerra of Ben Bolt, Texas; five nieces, Gloria Gutierrez of Alice, Texas, Lina Guerra of Ben Bolt, Alma (Alejo Sr.) Salas of Green Acres, Texas, Aida (Roberto) Alvarez of Ben Bolt, and Nora Tijerina of Green Acres; and two nephews, Valentin (Benny) Salgado Sr. of Kingsville, Texas, and Gilberto (Noemi) Guerra of Ben Bolt.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2007 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home of Alice with a Rosary to be recited that evening at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Ben Bolt and burial will follow at the Calaveras Cemetery.

FALFURRIAS, Texas - Zulema M. Lara, 71, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2007 in a Kingsville hospital after a long illness. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Eva Moreno and Aurora Montalvo; and by two brothers, Gabriel Mirelez and Alfredo Mirelez Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Ascencion Lara Sr. of Falfurrias, Texas; six sons, Israel Lara, Ascencion Lara Jr., Rodolfo Lara, Roberto Lara and Elijio Lara, all of Falfurrias; two daughters, Soila Montalvo and Adelina Olivarez, both of Falfurrias; two sisters, Luisa M. Arguijo of Riviera, Texas, and Ester Rivera of Falfurrias, Texas; one brother, Fernando Mirelez of Falfurrias, Texas; 30 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2007 at Alaniz Funeral Home of Falfurrias. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Falfurrias. Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - J. B. Lynn, 88, passed away November 3, 2007 in a Mathis nursing home. He was born October 16, 1919 in Muskogee, Okla., to Lum and Zelda Lynn. He was retired from B.D.K. Drilling company.
Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Lynn of Corpus Christi, Texas; three daughters, Alice (Wayne) Crozier of Galveston, Marilyn (Lando) Mejia of Miami, Fla., and Wanda (Kent) Fowler of Lake Jackson; two stepdaughters, Kay (Alec) Holbein of Hebbronville and Nancy Drew of Austin; two stepsons, Mickey (Nita) McNeal of George West and Rockey (Cinda) Crews of San Antonio; one sister, Lois Reeves of Albuquerque, N.M. 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday November 5, 2007 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Holmgreen Mortuary in Alice. The funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at the Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park in Alice.
