Basilio Morin, Jr., 79, passed away on January 16, 2009 in a San Diego nursing home. He retired from the San Diego Independent School District in 1996. He served his country in the United States Army from 1951-1956, serving in the Korean War. He was a 3rd Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Sociedad Catholica Mutualista.
Preceded in death by: his son; Luis C. Morin and a Grandson; Daniel R. Lichtenberger.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Eloisa "Nena" G. Morin of San Diego of Texas; one son, Angel Noe (Trudy) Morin from Houston, Texas; two daughters, Anna (Edmundo) Canales of Mission, Texas and Adriana (Roel) Lichtenberger of Austin, Texas; one brother, Francisco Morin of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild
Visitation was Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home of San Diego with a Rosary recited that same evening. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2009 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church and burial will followed at the San Diego Cemetery with military graveside services by the local V.F.W. Post 8931 and the United Veteran's Burial Association.
