ALICE, Texas - Erasmo Torres Aguilar, 74, passed away September 18, 2007 in a Corpus Christi care center. He was born April 16, 1933 to Guadalupe and Sabas Aguilar. He worked for Shanks and Sons Construction all of his life. He was also a security officer for Torres Security for 10 years. He loved ranching and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Sabas Aguilar.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Alma C. Aguilar of Alice, Texas; four daughters, Alma (Luciano) Buentello of Alvin, Texas, Ada Linda (Nicolas) Cantu of Alice, Texas, Arleen Aguilar of San Antonio, Texas, and Annabell Aguilar of Alice, Texas; one brother, Alfredo Aguilar of Pasadena, Texas; five sisters, Lorenza "Chacha" Hatch of Orange Grove, Texas, Viola (Joaquin) Arreguin of Sparta, Mich., Gregoria Anna (Henry) Uribe of Alice, Texas, Maria Guadalupe (Gabriel) Estrada Casanova of Michigan, and Emma Yolanda (Deacon Armando) Botello of Corpus Christi, Texas; two dear friends, Janie Garza and Joshua Garza, both of Alice, Texas; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2007 at Mauro R. Garcia Funeral Home of Alice with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. that evening by Deacon Armando Botello. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, September 21, 2007 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and burial will follow at the New Collins Cemetery.

BISHOP, Texas - Moises M. "El Senor Mecanico" Ovalle, 73, of Bishop, Texas, passed away September 17, 2007 in Kingsville, Texas. He was born February 19, 1934 in Driscoll, Texas, to Macario and Saturnina Ovalle. He was an auto mechanic and was employed by May-Nix Chevrolet and Walter Johnson Motors for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Minerva C. Ovalle; one daughter, Adriana (Roel G.) Balboa of Bishop, Texas; two sons, Moises (Misty) Ovalle Jr. of Bishop, Texas, and Adrian (Bertha) Ovalle of Kingsville, Texas; three sisters, Celia Rodrigeuz of Kingsvile, Petra Cavazos and Guadalupe Mejias of Agua Dulce, Texas; three brothers, Noe Ovalle and Ramon Ovalle, both of Agua Dulce, Texas, and Guadalupe Ovalle of Alice, Texas; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2007 with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 20, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kingsville with Father Romeo Salinas officiating. Burial will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Bishop.

SAN DIEGO, Texas - Maria Luisa Quintanilla, 78, died Monday, September 17, 2007 at a Houston hospital after a sudden illness. She was a former resident of San Diego, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Quintanilla Sr.; her daughter, Sylvia Saenz; and her brother, Horacio Hernandez.
Survivors include her sons, Ramon (Joicila) Quintanilla Jr. of Willis, Texas, and Rene (Delfina) Quintanilla of Lubbock, Texas; her daughters, Santos (Amador) Trevino of Lubbock, Texas, Maria (Gregorio) Hernandez of Houston, Texas, and Margarita (Gonzalo) Mendoza of Conroe, Texas; her brothers, Francisco (Linda) Hernandez of Poth, Texas, and Saragosa Hernandez Jr. of Horbert, Okla.; five sisters, Olivia Saenz of San Diego, Texas, Laura (Guadalupe) Rendon of Lubbock, Texas, Antolina Barrientes of San Diego, Texas, and Lydia Torres and San Juanita (Jorge) Hernandez, both of Willis, Texas; 24 grandchildren 52 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery in San Diego, Texas.

PREMONT, Texas -Damian Rodriguez, 22, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2007 in Premont, Texas, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a self-employed contractor.
Survivors include his wife, Vanessa Rodriguez of Premont, Texas; one son, Damian Rodriguez II of Premont; three daughters, Katherine Faith Rodriguez, Kimberly Nichole Rodriguez and Katriena Nola Rodriguez, all of Premont; his parents, Elizabeth (Arnulfo Jr.) Gonzalez Rodriguez of Premont and Martin Hernandez of Uvalde, Texas; one brother, Martin Hernandez II of Premont; seven sisters, Crystal Nichole Hernandez, Eloisa Renee Hernandez, Carol Marie Hernandez, Patricia Ann Hernandez, Victoria Hernandez, Sandra Hernandez and Jessica Hernandez, all of Premont.
