ALICE, Texas - Leticia Perez, 43, passed away September 1, 2007 in a local hospital following an extended illness. She was born in Alice, Texas, on July 24, 1964. She was preceded in death by her uncle, Polito Gonzalez Jr.; maternal grandfather, Manuel Olivares Sr.; and paternal grandparents, Maercelino and Angelita Martinez.
Survivors include her mother, Elia Olivarez of Alice, Texas; stepfather, Manuel Olivarez of Wimberly, Texas; father, Eloy C. (Ofelia) Martinez of Alice, Texas; three sons, Jose Luis Villarreal, Emede (Linda) Perez III and David (Lisa) Perez of Alice, Texas; a daughter, Jessica Marie Perez of Alice, Texas; six brothers, Lalo (Maria) Garcia and Manuel Olivarez III, both of New Braunfels, Texas, Miguel Manuel Olivarez, Eloy (Elvira) Martinez Jr. and Raul (Melissa) Martinez, all of Alice, Texas, and Joe (Candy) Martinez of Austin, Texas; six sisters, Norma (Jesse) Ruiz, Rebecca (Jason) Cadena, Lupita (Ruben) Garza, Eva (Luciano) Gaitan and Angie (Jose) Zamarripa, all of Alice, Texas, and Delfina Martinez of San Antonio, Texas; grandparents, Leopoldo "Polo" (Rita) Gonzalez and Porfiria Olivarez, both of Alice, Texas; an aunt, Sylvia (Ricky Ramirez) Bueno of Alice, Texas; two uncles, Raul (Noemi) Gonzalez of Alice, Texas, and Baldemar (Yolanda) Gonzalez of Kingsville, Texas; 11 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at noon Thursday, September 6, 2007 with a prayer service that evening at 7 p.m. in the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel in Alice, Texas.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, September 7, 2007 at 3 p.m. in the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the New Collins Cemetery.

Orange Grove, Texas - Laura J. Shoemake, 48, was taken by the Lord, in the presence of her family and friends after a hard fought battle with Leukemia.
She was a loving mother, wife, sister, and daughter, who made the most of her life and everyone around her.
Through the worst of times she always put everyone else’s troubles in front of hers, clinging to the happiness of family and friends.
Laura was a dedicated employee of the Value Bank in Orange Grove and the Orange Grove Co-Op for many years. She dedicated her life to the well being of her husband of 29 years and her three sons.
Laura is survived by her husband: Bobby Shoemake of Orange Grove, Texas; three sons, Garrett Shoemake, Cason (Amanda) Shoemake and Taylor Shoemake, all of Orange Grove, Texas; her parents, Gus and Melba Novosad of Jourdanton, Texas; a sister, Pat (Tom) Pinchback of Fort Worth, Texas; a brother-in-law, Darryl (Marilyn) Shoemake of Colorado; and she was blessed with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel in Alice, Texas.
Funeral service will be Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel in Alice, Texas.
Interment will follow at the Orange Grove Cemetery in Orange Grove, Texas.
