ALICE, Texas - John Michael Bunch, 18, died July 5, 2007 at his residence after a sudden illness. He was a junior at Alice High School, and loved to play football and loved life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Sanchez; half-uncle, Javier "Jammer" Sanchez; maternal great-grandparents, James N. Bunch Jr. and Agnes Bunch; and maternal great-great-grandmother, Maria Chairez.
Survivors include his parents, Robert and Claudia B. Aguilar of Alice, Texas; maternal grandparents, John Bunch of Alice, Texas, and Maria B. Menesesa, of Lodi, Calif.; paternal grandparents, Juan M. Sanchez and Belinda Sanchez Martinez, both of Alice, Texas; brother, Jacob Robert Aguilar of Alice, Texas; half-brother, Robert Jesse Sanchez Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Linda Marie Bunch of Alice, Texas; half-sister, Destiny Sanchez of Corpus Christi, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Rosary will be recited Sunday, July 8, 2007 at 7 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home Chapel in Alice. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, July 9, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Alice. Burial will follow at Roberson-Collins Cemetery.

ALICE, Texas - Manuel Campos Zarate Sr., 82, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 in a Corpus Christi hospital after a long illness. He was born June 17, 1925 and was raised in Mexico City before coming to Falfurrias, Texas. He met and married Zoila Reyna in June 1952.
He worked as a crane operator for Heldt Brothers Trucks for more than 30 years. He and his wife owned Alice Crane Company and continued operating a 200-ton crane until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife, Zoila Reyna Zarate; and two sons, Jose "Tony" Zarate and Manuel "Memo" Zarate Jr.
Survivors include two daughters, Loretta Zarate of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Magda (Luis) Luna of Alice, Texas; a son, Mario (Marisela) Zarate of Alice, Texas. He is also survived by Humberto (Anne) Reyna of Amelia, Va., Antonio Reyna of Corpus Christi, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2007 at Walker-Mora Funeral Home Chapel in Alice. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2007 at St, Joseph Catholic Church in Alice with burial to follow at New Collins Cemetery-Alice.
